Reverend Allen T. Tillman
Reverend Allen Tillman is the son of the late Pastor Allen and Doretha Tillman. He is the one and only son of five siblings. He accepted Christ and was baptized at a young age. He is a graduate of Lake Wales Senior High School class of 1977. He later attended Polk Community College before a family tragedy led him to Orlando, Florida.
Reverend Tillman has a wealth of knowledge and experience from time spent as a member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, Oakland Florida where he served faithfully for 32 years in various roles and/or positions which includes: Deacon, Chairman of the Deacon Board, Trustee Board member, program chairman, gardener, Bible study teacher, Sunday school superintendent, Sunday school teacher, youth leader, church musician, and associate minister. He also counsels’ co-workers and serves as the leader of a prayer group on his job.
Reverend Tillman is very passionate about the word of God and winning souls for Christ. After acknowledging the call that God placed upon his life, on August 13, 2006, he was licensed to preach the word of God and ordained May 29, 2016, at Trinity MBC under the leadership of Pastor John E. Donaldson. On April 25, 2020, Reverend Allen Tillman was called as Pastor of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church, Fruitland Park FL.
He has a heart for the youth, many to whom he is both mentor and father figure. Reverend Tillman also has strong ties to the West Orange community, where he served fourteen years as a volunteer for the youth football program. In his spare time, he enjoys reading, walking, bike riding, gardening, sports, trips to the beach, and spending time with his loving wife and family.
After moving to Orlando, he met and married the love of his life, Carol Lynn Smith. They have been married now for 33 years. From this union, they have five children: two sons, three daughters, and seven grandchildren. Reverend Tillman is currently employed with the State of Florida Department of Health in Orange County, where he has worked for over 33 years.
He is predestined by God, ordained by God, chosen by God, and is on assignment for God.
